Kiyoshi Awazu - Scrap Book

Forget that simple, clean, minimal, and zen-like Japanese aesthetic, and let me introduce you to the psychedelic chaos of Kiyoshi Awazu. Emerging out of post-war Japan, Awazu blazed a path through any and every medium he could get his hands on: posters, paintings, theater, architecture, etc; through a style so aggressively unique that he created his own vernacular iconography. Such in a way, in his words, ‘to extend the rural into the city, foreground the folklore, reawaken the past, and summon back the outdated.’
